Hi! I’m Lisel, a user experience designer based in Oakland, California.
My path to UX began in the nonprofit sector, where I served as digital operations manager at an early startup organization. In this role, I collaborated with users, content specialists, and developers to create streamlined e-learning experiences that brought key content to the forefront. Inspired by this work, I sought to deepen and formalize the skillset I had developed. These experiences led me to pursue a career in UX, and form the foundation of my work today.
My design practice draws inspiration from my lifelong explorations in visual art. Whatever the medium, I’m always thinking about color, space, and emotional impact. Meanwhile, my academic background in psychology has instilled in me the value of empiricism and a deep curiosity and respect for others’ experiences.
I’m driven to contribute to environments that prioritize empathy, authenticity, and collaborative problem-solving. My ultimate goal as a designer is to continually learn and grow.
